Ministry of Tourism opened the Imhotep Museum in Saqqara after the completion of its restoration work
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities opened the work of upgrading and restoring the Imhotep Museum in the Saqqara area, which is located 20 km from the Giza Plateau.
The idea of building the Imhotep Museum in Saqqara began in 1997 when the idea of establishing it came to commemorate and honor the memory of the Egyptian engineer and architect “Imhotep” and to exhibit the pyramidal collection of King Djoser, who is considered the first to erect a pyramidal building and the first to use stone in implementing huge buildings.
The museum was officially opened on April 20, 2006, then it was closed again on March 15, 2022, to develop and raise the effectiveness of the museum and the services provided in it.
