EgyptAir officially operating its flights between Cairo and Jakarta
EGYPTAIR, the national carrier of Egypt, has announced the launch of a direct route between Cairo and Jakarta, as a part of its expansion plan.
The first flight took off to the Indonesian capital, with a B787-9 Dreamliner carrying 234 passengers. It is scheduled to operate two flights per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
On this occasion, Eng. Yehia Zakaria, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Holding Company, stated that the opening of the Cairo-Jakarta route meets the needs of many customers from both the Egyptian and Indonesian sides, especially given the strong relations between the two countries, adding that the Asian market is one of the heavy - traffic markets that is expected to achieve positive returns due to the increase in operating rates and the improvement of Asian tourism traffic coming to Egypt.
He also pointed out that the national carrier aims at reaching the largest number of destinations around the world for its customers, especially in light of the competition among airlines to attract more customers.
