Port Said tourist port receives the largest sailing ships in the world carrying 450 passengers
The Media Office of the Suez Canal Economic Zone said that the Port Said tourist port received the ship CLUB MED 2 this morning, which is one of the largest sailing ships in the world.
He added that the ship comes from the Mediterranean basin and carries 300 passengers and 150 ship crew of different nationalities as part of one-day tourist trips, as it is scheduled to organize quick trips for tourists to the city of Cairo to visit archaeological monuments and museums.
He explained that a quick trip within the city of Port Said is scheduled for the ship’s crew and some passengers to get acquainted with the tourist and historical places in the city.
The ship will leave the port at nine o’clock in the evening, heading to the port of Alexandria in preparation for their return to resume the rest of their journey.It is worth noting that the ship is one of the largest sailing cruise ships in the world, which cruises the ports of the Caribbean Sea in the winter and the ports of the Mediterranean Basin in the summer.
The ship is owned and operated by Club Med SA (fka Club Mediterranee), a French company that is part of the Fosun Group that specializes in distinguished holiday packages.
All-inclusive has its own resorts around the world.Built-in 1992, Club Med 2 is a computer-controlled five-sail sloop with more conventional diesel-electric power, with four diesel generators driving two electric motors.It can accommodate 400 passengers and consists of 184 cabins and 2,000 square meters of external surfaces on 8 levels, all connected by front and rear elevators.
The office indicated that all procedures necessary for the ship to enter the port, its landing on the pier, and the reception of tourists in the arrival hall have been completed to complete all procedures easily and smoothly.
