Updating the requirements to enter Egypt, starting from 22 January 2022

Acceptance of negative coronavirus certificates for all approved tests (PCR - Antigen Rapid Test - ID NOW)all arrivals who have vaccination certificates with a QR Code will be allowed; vaccines approved by the World Health Organization and the Egyptian Medicines Authority, Provided that 14 days have passed since the second dose of the two-dose vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Sinovac, and Sinopharm), or at least 14 days have passed for the single-dose vaccines (Johnson & Johnson), or certificates of negativity of the Coronavirus, with any examination Among the tests approved by the Ministry of Health and Population (PCR - Antigen Rapid Test - ID NOW), within 72 hours before arrival, children under 12 years old are excluded.

In the event that the vaccination certificate or examination does not conform to the regulations established by the Egyptian state, the Antigen Rapid Test is conducted upon arrival, and in the case, it's positive the examination is confirmed by the ID NOW test, (note that obtaining the result of the examination takes between 10 to 15 minutes). In this case, it’s positive those arriving, through the airports, ports, and tourist cities (Sharm El-Sheikh, Taba, Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Luxor, and Aswan), will be allowed to enter provided that self-isolation is applied for a period of five days in residence hotels, with a PCR examination on the sixth day, and in the event of a negative result, they are allowed to terminate the isolation.

If the result is positive, the isolation continues for another five days, and then the isolation is terminated without the need for another examination
